My narcoleptic brain checks out at inopportune times leaving me speechless, wordless, mindless, in moments of decisive meaning.

I find it hard not to see us

an ant colony with an over-fertile queen.

POPULATING indiscriminately.

Drones working, pushing, scraping the land clean until

EVENTUALLY

we roam so far we can’t return home

NOT intelligent enough to do the snip worldwide

How do you stop a cancer growth when the body doesn’t even know it’s a disease

– rather –

it’s glorifying in its growth.

Haiku

My auto senses

Catapult me into space

Orbit, no return.

Since when do I tire
of the turmoils our heroes
suffer day in, out

Heroes, they prevail
against insurmountable
odds, once, twice, three times

a whole slew of Haiku

I’m see-king black pants
blue jack-et and cap strol-ling
bounc-cing down the path

Some la-dies frag-gile
So thin my arm would not fit
In-side their pant leg

I’m not a mons-ster
A vil-lain of an-ny sort
I’m mere-ly a man

To-day yes-ter-day
My feet leave im-prints in sand
To-mor-row is fresh

No, I don’t see her
No black pants, no blue jack-et
Al-read-dy gone by?

Buzz warm cof-fee lift
Sits high on my brain like fire
on a can-dle’s wick

Some la-dies bul-bous
Bal-loons. Bloat-ted set to float
On earth like bob-bers.

Reps

Raucous
A little burn in my belly
discomfort that nests
prevents
holds my heart like a
throbbing
sea urchin
Don’t poke my heart
it’ll clasp
squinch
and attempt to hold on…
…attempt.

and slowly fall
fail
collapse
in on itself.

————————

I’ll catch hold of your
fing-grrr, sing-gll sill a bill
thump, in men-nee beats.

————————

How we fit
in today
isn’t much more
than confidence
built from yesterday.

————————-

“What about that outmeal apricot??”
–one moment
overshadows every other
when the barista
is loud,
talkative
and unable to endure silence.

———————–

you do not know cold
un-til you have walked a mile
in a snow-man’s pants

and
when a snowman pees
does he melt a hole in his torso?

Haiku Sunday

Published by:

Raspy wind hauls mist
Through shrouds, coats pines, heavy weight
Suffers the morning

———-

I’m a burning ember
Left covered in grey, a mine,
A beach-goer’s foot

———–

Trendy facial hair
It grows a barbed wire weed
Where is my whacker?

———–

Today if I use a thinner font
Can I fit more words in my haiku
Or are the syllables the same?

Haiku Fuel

Published by:

Two thousand and ten
ways to complain, gripe, moan, fight
about tomorrow, yesterday, tomorrow.

This ain’t no oil slick
It’s a goddam La Brea’ Pit
Bigger than TEXAS

We’ll be fossilized
twinki-ized.  Mammoths will munch
our tasty morsels candied bodies

and philosophize –
Were they carnivores or veg?
warlike or peaceful social or selfish?

They’ll count our fingers
note the opposable thumb
and wonder what for?    And envy our grip?

Then deep in the earth,
discovery.  Our trash pits
buried deep – hidden – precious.

Maybe they’ll figure
how to burn it – heat their homes
and commute to work.

Is that Irony
or simple repetition?
Two thousand and ten.

Just One

Published by:

Thought bubbles adrift
over the foggy water
hidden by the mist.

They float hidden gems,
cornflower, chartreuse and green,
an important whisper

Can I just grab one
without bursting it’s fragile
shell?    Evaporate.

Just one.
